MERIVALE HOME

We recently had a highly- spec'd architecturally designed townhouse built by Jeremy and his team from The Woodsmith Ltd.

As this was the first time we had built we were pleased to find it was an exciting and enjoyable experience.  We found the whole Woodsmith team easy to work with. Jeremy was always happy to listen to new suggestions and tolerant of little changes we made. The building site was always neat and tidy at the end of every day which we really appreciated.

There are quite a few unique architectural features in our home, not least of which is a suspended wooden staircase.  The Woodsmith team really showed they were on point and did an amazing job. We were super impressed with their ability to work through everything thoroughly and systematically with a fantastic end result. As an Interior Designer, I personally take a great interest in the detailing and finishing of a house.  In this case, it was superb, something for which, I think, they should get full marks.

We are thrilled with our house and would not hesitate in recommending Jeremy and his guys to anyone considering employing them. You will get a thorough, professional job, from a very likeable team of guys.

MERIVALE HOME

I purchased bare land in June 2017. I commissioned Evan Mayo of Architecture Bureau to design a 230sqm single level three bedroom, two bathroom, plus office and snug dwelling. It was decided that we would build the house in two stages with separate contracts. One for the excavations and foundation slab and one for the build above the slab.

I am so pleased that Jeremy Smith of The Woodsmith won both contracts as my experience has been nothing short of total satisfaction.

The land here is TC3 and so extensive foundations were required. We commissioned Fabio Parodi of the Cresco Group to design the foundations and he designed them using the Armadillo method that he has developed. It is relatively new and innovative but Jeremy has had prior experience with it. There are over 91 cubic metres of concrete in the foundations and there were no issues involved with either design, consent, or build. A problem did arise, not of Jeremy’s making and being the professional he is, Jeremy took ownership of this hiccup and it was fixed. The foundations were completed on time and for the quoted price. Fabio ticked off all the engineering boxes.

The above slab build was scheduled to take 20 weeks and in spite of some delays because of inclement weather, this was completed on time and for the quoted price. There were no issues of any significance concerning the builders, or any subcontractors. This I am sure was due to Jeremy only employing professional “subbies”. This is what you should expect when you employ professionals and it is what I received.

I had heard lots of horror stories about building and I was apprehensive. There were issues, of course, but they were resolved by Jeremy and Evan in conjunction with the relevant subbies. At no time was there any issue on standard of workmanship and the build was completed as per the schedule and to the quoted price.

I have no hesitation in recommending Jeremy Smith and his team at The Woodsmith.
